From personal experience. To standing beside others.

Karim Suleiman came to Germany in the mid-1990s as a Kurdish refugee from Syria. He brought his passion for sport and first-hand experience of the challenges of starting again.

After several stops, he moved to Bad Salzuflen in the early 2000s. Here, his love of athletics became a commitment to the community: coaching, connection and support beyond the sports field.

His own experience taught him the importance of language and guidance. He accompanied people to public offices, helped with family support questions and supported young people looking for apprenticeships.
